No big news on the Biometrics 2005 in London

Thursday I visited the Biometrics 2005 in London. Compared to previous years, this years edition was fairly crowded. Although I didn't find any new exciting developments. I missed Hitachi's finger vein scanner. I played with it earlier this summer and I find it a true groundbreaking device.
Compared to the palm vein scanner, where the technique is based on light reflecting, the finger vein scanner actually measures vein through the finger making it a stronger biometric.
Anyway, they were not present but a lot of others were.
With the interest in biometrics growing rapidly, the quality of the booth personnel is decreasing with the same speed. It annoyed me. I always hate it when salespeople do not even understand the technology they are selling.
